Urbanization is an important historical task in chinese socialist modernizationconstruction. It’s also the human society of economy development and the only route whichmust be passed. The report of the Party’s eighteenth congress says:we will keep pace to thenew development of urbanization with Chinese characteristics. It includes the urbanization ofpopulation, the urbanization of market, civilization and urbanization, green urbanization. etc.One of the most critical core is the population urbanization. That is in order to promote themigrant workers citizenization and pull off urban residents out of poverty,and prefer to theequal public services. Indeed, the construction of urbanization in china that has entered anew stage of rapid development. But the current household registration system is thehistorical product of planned economy in specific period. With the current market economysystem inevitable conflict. It is already unable to adapt to the development of social economyand the process of urbanization. And initiation reflects a series of social problems in a way.urgently need reform.For that reason, the author decided to reform the household registration system in theprocess of new urbanization in china as a subject of study.It’s based on the householdregistration system and the theory of urbanization. Discussing our country urbanizationchallenges to the current census register system. Finally put forward to the correspondingsuggestion about the household registration system reform in china. Because our country is avast territory and abundant resources, urban and rural economic development is not balancedstate. This will lead to the reform of the household registration system to a unifiedstrategy.We have a long way to go, and the reform should be a gradual process.
