The emergence and development of the Internet is also a major event in political science. Internet in China is a special non-institutional channels of political participation, which is widely regarded as a major cause of frequent incidents of group events. Additionally, studies upon the relationship between internet use and political participation is exactly the argument between expansionary perspective and reinforcement perspective for a long time. Both of the two point is the practical and theoretical basis of this study. Firstly, using data from Asian Barometer Survey, this study compared Chinese with other Asian countries, and found there are differences in political attitudes and political participation in China. Analysis of covariance confirmed the expansionary perspective. After that, using the data from a Zhejiang University student survey and2004Taiwan Social Change Survey, this study explored and validated the political attitudes-social network-political participation transformation path of political participation. Politics interest and political efficacy, which are included in political attitudes, will affect online political participation via social networks. Furthermore, they will change political participation offline.
