A Study Of Chinse Communist Party’s Policy For Intellectuals During Yan’an Period

The issue of intellectuals takes an important role in Chinese revolution andconstruction which cannot be avoided. The policy for intellectuals is alsoimportant part of Chinese Communist Party’s policy. Since Chinese CommunistParty is established, the understanding of the significance, position and classnature of the intellectuals has gone through a tortuous and complicated process.During the period of the establishment of Chinese Communist Party and the FirstGreat Revolution, the intellectuals occupies an important position in the Party andmakes great contribution to the communication of Marxism and the promotion ofthe combination of Marxism and the Chinese Workers’ Movement. As the“Leading Body Made of Workers” is overemphasized, the intellectuals have beendiscriminated against. During Yan’an period, Chinese Communist Party graduallyrectifies the Left Adventurism and recruits the intellectuals into the Party whichbrings new blood into the Chinese revolution and makes contribution to thesuccess of Anti-Japanese War.During Yan’an period, Chinese Communist Party has rectified the LeftAdventurism and recruited a great number of intellectuals and young students,provided material and political benefits for the intellectuals and encouraged themto make contribution to the success of Anti-Japanese War, opened schools andcarried out Rectification Movement to transform the intellectuals’ ideology toproletarian ideology to become one of the masses of workers and peasants.Chinese Communist Party’s policy for intellectuals has taken effect, forexample, it has expanded the force of the Party, strengthened the solidarity of theAnti-Japanese National United Front and made the intellectuals and scholars playtheir intelligence to the construction and development of theShanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government.However problems still exist. We should take the warning. What we canlearn from Chinese Communist Party’s policy for intellectuals is: we shouldproperly analyze and evaluate the class nature of the intellectuals, provideadequate material and political benefit for them, establish a perfect intellectualproperty rights system, and make democratic education to the intellectuals andyoung students.
