Spatio-temporal Data Organization And Management Research Of Zhujuan

Zhujuan is the product of the imperial examination in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which having rich content and detailed information. Its abundant spatcial-time information and integrated semantic make it become the important source to study the societies, the politics, the culture, the education, and imperial examination in period of Ming and Qing Dynasty. The display of the spatial and temporal information contained in Zhujuan can reproduce the history of distributing admission quota of imperial examination according to the districts in Ming and Qing dynasties from multiple scales, reconstruct personal pilot test, office holding and other important social events and reflect the spatial migration and expansion of imperial talents and imperial family.However, since the imperial examination was abolished, many of the Zhujuans were scattered. The surviving Zhujuans are stored in all parts of the country in the form of papers. Zhujuan’s low degree of digitization and informatization is obvious, and the studies on Zhujuan are basically the literature reviews and textual researches, without digitized, structuralizational, and cavitational storage and management of the text information of them. Moreover, there is no spatial-temporal evolution, and in-depth data analysis of Zhujuan.Currently, the GIS, spatial analysis and simulation etc., these spatial integrated approaches have been widely used in the humanities and social sciences. Especially, GIS technology which has developed into a platform for the collection, analysis and display of the humane and social information has become a hotspot and an important research direction of humanities and social sciences.In this article, GIS technology will be applied to the collection, organization, management and analysis of spatio-temporal data in Zhujuan. Combining with the unified spatial-temporal framework of genealogy GIS, this paper aims to design an information classification system of Zhujuan facing to multi-disciplinary research application and Zhujuan spatiotemporal Data Model, and then establish a management system of Zhujuan based on GIS. The purposes of this paper are to realize the digitized, structuralizational and cavitational storage and management of the text contents of Zhujuan; Provide data and technical supports for quantitative analysis, spatial-temporal evolution and in-depth data analysis of the information of Zhujuan; Provide data support for GIS research of official history, local history and Chinese genealogy, and expand the research applications of Zhujuan.Based on the above analysis, The original files of Zhujuan are regarded as research objects, and the main contents and results of this article are as follows:1) Considering that there is a huge amount of Zhujuan with complex contents, this paper makes an analysis and conclusion of the content, the spatial-temporal expression features and the spatial-temporal evolution features of Zhujuan, and make an investigation and prediction of the potential research value of Zhujuan. The Zhujuan information is classified according to the representations of time and space, the nature of the event, characters, scholarly honor won in imperial exams and social relations of persons. Five classification objects are time, space, events, figure and social relations of persons. This paper studies the classification criteria of Zhujuan information and its corresponding hierarchical level, and establishes an information classification system facing to the applications of multi-disciplinary research.2) Based on the spatio-temporal representations features and evolution characteristics of Zhujuan, this paper researches the organizations method of the historical administrative divisions, historical names, school yards, the examination halls and other geographic entities by combining with the classification system of Zhujuan information and the unified spatial-temporal framework of genealogy GIS. Studying the organizing pattern of the non-temporal and spatial information, and their internal relations with temporal and spatial information, and then establishes an spatiotemporal Data Model of Zhujuan based on Geodatabase.3) Based on the spatiotemporal Data Model of Zhujuan, this paper studies the automatic or semi-automatic analytical method of Zhujuan’s text information, and the standardized processing methods of the diversified expression spatio-temporal information, and builds spatial-temporal databases of Zhujuan based on geodatabase and the GIS management system of Zhujuan, to realize the effective access and management of Zhujuan information.
