Regions are not isolated but interacted with each other in the terms of the development of economy and the diffusion of technology and knowledge. In addition, the relationship between regions is dynamic and uneven. The issue of how to diagnose and express the dynamics is the main contents ofthis paper. The regional spatio-temporal process models are mathematical models with the spatio-temporal interaction between regions and is used to analyze the real data of socio-economy in order to find the evolution law of regional things. In this paper we have applied one spatio-temporal process model about dynamic development analysis of regional economy to the economic data of Shandong Province. And we have also explored the expression methods of spatio-temporal information and process models. The main purposes of this paper are to explore a new method of the analysis of regional economy and that of the expression of the spatio-temporal information. The paper is divided into seven chapters in all. The following is the summarized contents of every chapter. In the first chapter we have explained the necessity to do the research in this paper, and have simply introduced one theoretical basis of the model applied in this paper, so called "new economic geography".The second chapter is about the review of the models about the uneven economy. One model is Markov Chain which is used to analyze the long-run developing pattern of the regional economy by the temporal series of data. The application result of Markov Chain by Quah is that the world economy seems to converge to an stable state that some countries remain affluent and others remain poor, that is, the world economy will be polarized towards two camps that one is affluence, the other poverty. Fingleton has also seen about the evidence and essence of the convergence of European economy via Markov Chain and found that the stable state that regions will converge to may be a permanent inequality state. But he also pointed out the limitations of Markov Chain and thought that Markov Chain Model is not the best pattern of regional economy analysis.Another model introduced in this paper is Fingleton economic spatio-temporal process model. This model based on new theoretical economic geography and endogenetic growth theory contains the roles of interaction between regions, peripherality, technology, manufacturing economic growth rate and urbanization, and can be applied to real socio-economy to find the dynamic variation law of manufacturing productivity growth rate. In his model the reflection of the interaction between regions is accomplished by a spatial weight matrix. The economic size and the distances between regions and the economic center are incorporated in the spatial weight matrix. The third chapter is to analyze the definition of spatial weight matrix. I haveworked out a program to automatically create the binary contiguity matrix, a special and most ordinary type of general spatial weight matrix. Since it is a necessity to create the spatial weight matrix in the construction and the application of spatial econometric models, our work about spatial weight matrix is necessary and important. The fourth chapter is about simultaneous equation models. Because the spatial econometric methods used in this paper should reflect the time dependencies plus the spatial dependence which is an inescapable empirical feature of the data at quantitative level of resolution, a fairly unusual system modeling approach called "three stage least squares" is adopted which incorporates both unspecified error covariance and spatial weights to model time and spatial interaction. The details of simultaneous equation models about basic concepts, various modeling approached are described. The simultaneous equation model is the one that embodies the endogenetic variables which are interacted. Its modeling approaches are divided into two types: one is single equation modeling approaches which consist of ILS, IV and 2SLS, the other is systems modeling approaches which are co...
