Ever since the18th CPC National Congress has raised three advocacies of socialistcore values, to realize the popularization of socialist core values has become a problemto be solved urgently. The mass media of communication is an effective carrier for thedissemination of socialist core values. Based on Marx’s communication theory, thisthesis analyzes the positive and negative effect of the mass media, reveals the inherentlaws and practical principles the mass media should follow under the guidance ofMarx’s communication theory, so as to explore the efficient approaches to realize thepopularization of socialist core values.The theoretical basis of Marx’s communication theory is spiritual interaction theory.From the perspective of human’s from the perspective of human spirit communicationneeds for spirit communication, Marx analyzes the realization process of spiritualinteraction and the cultural popularization by the changes of communication means. Themain content of Marx’s communication theory including the inherent laws of media,social functions and principles of practice. The media plays the function of "papermoney" in a constructed concept world, and therefore has realized the inherent law of"the organic movement" of the reports from one-sided to authentic. In specificcommunication practice, the reports follow the "free press" principle, so as to make thenewspapers become the spiritual link of the party and the masses.The mass media has become a sharp social tool and active mechanism in spreadingadvanced culture and values.However, the strong penetration and media functionalienation of Western media culture has brought about the drawbacks and problemswhich can no be ignored. Under the guidance of Marx’s communication theory, thethesis explores the specific approaches of the massification of socialist core valuesfrom the following two dimensions. On the one hand, in aspect of disseminationprinciple, the media should follow the inherent law under the guidance of Marx’scommunication theory, so as to realize the authenticity and objectivity of informationdissemination, to avoid the limitations like vulgarization and falsehood of the content ofcommunication. Media should also grasp the correct direction of public opinion, toavoid the strong penetration of Western media culture, and to play the effective role of"paper currency of social public opinion". At the same time, the mass media should insist on the principle of people’s subjectivity in the information transmission in order towin the trust and support of the masses. On the other hand, in the communicationstrategy, the media under the guidance of Marx’s communication theory should be basedon the security of people’s spiritual interaction and the basis of material benefits, toavoid the long cycle of transforming the theory into practice. Besides, in the setting ofagenda, the mass media should understand the audience’s psychological demand,creating the mass culture close to life; The effective use of new media can promotenational authoritative evaluation activities and the value of the interactions betweensocial public evaluation activities, and reach the consensus on the value in theinteraction. In this way can we realize the effective role of the mass media in thesocialist core values in the process.
