China’s Rural Village Committee Election System Research

The election of village committee is an important component of China’s socialistdemocratic politics, is the main content of the villager autonomy activities. According tothe relevant provisions of the law of village committee elections, the villagers of villagecadres directly elected through democratic elections. The villagers through exercisingtheir right to vote to elect their own satisfaction with the village cadres, village cadres tolead the peasants that good management of village affairs, is conducive to the realizationof farmers to be in power. Through the practice and development of a few years, thevillage committee election has made great achievements, made a great contribution to thedevelopment of China’s rural areas and even the whole society, the village committeeelection system of continuous improvement and development. But because of ourcountry for a short time, there is not enough experience, there are many problems in thevillage committee elections, these problems have many causes. In order to develop andperfect the village committee election procedures and results, and perfecting the systemof village committee election, we must solve these problems from multiple perspectives,promote the construction and development of China’s rural grassroots democracy.Based on the comprehensive discussion of basis of the rural village committeeelection system and practice, summed up the reform and opening up Chinese rural villagecommittee election of historical experience and lessons, which reflect the rural villagecommittee elections, and puts forward some opinions and suggestions, improve the hopefor China’s village committee election system, improvement to do some contributions tothe construction of grass-roots democracy in China.
