Following China’s accelerated urbanization development, more peasants are losing their lands because of land requisition, and forced to live as landless peasants. Scholars have aroused the broad attention for the problems related those landless peasants and the enlarging group. Plenty of effective researches have been carried out on rights and interests of landless peasants as well as compensation, their work status, transforming from rural residents to urban residents, their role dilemma, etc. However, there is seldom research on the changes in interpersonal (neighborhood) relations, which should be the fundamental research on land-requisitioned peasants. The following are the main contents to be discussed:What’s the neighborhood status of peasants before and after land requisition? What factors affect the transition of their neighborhood? What are their opinions on the transition of neighborhood? This paper carries out empirical study on a suburban village in JH City, Zhejiang Province. The author has deeply interviewed individual residents in this village, listened to their own voice, and reproduced the change of neighborhood of land-requisitioned peasants objectively. We focused on the neighborhood-relation changes in three detailed aspects, including interpersonal contact at spare time, cooperation and disputes between neighbors. We analyzed how the neighborhood-relation changes in detail, and analyzed and discussed the affecting factors. The study shows that the neighborhood-relation changes are relatively noticeable before and after requisition. Population movements, life style changes of land-requisitioned peasants, and residential space change after the requisition are the main affecting factors for the neighborhood-relation. It’s available to improve the neighborhood by strengthening the construction of community culture, intensifying cooperation between community neighbors, and creating new public spaces, etc.
