M.N. Roy,a political activists from India, had his own footprint in more than20countries from the world. Roy was a radical nationalist in his early life, successivelyshifting in Southeast Asia, Japan, China, the USA and Mexico etc. In accepting the MarxDoctrine, Roy was very active in the Communist International, and also had importantrelationship with the Chinese Revolution. After being expelled from the CommunistInternational, Roy had joined the Indian National Congress, due to his support to the antifascist war which meant his disagreement with Congress, finally Roy was by sacked theCongress. After the end of World War II, Roy put forward "new humanism" thought,attacking on Marxism, at the same time, publicly criticizing the institutional defects andtotalitarian tendency of Western Parliamentary Democracy, and claiming that the politicalparty system was the biggest obstacle to democracy. Roy’s legendary personal experienceled to his unique theory of human nature and national view. In Roy’s political philosophy,for the essence of humanity, he believed that reason, morality and freedom was theinherent attributes of man; On the relationship between the state, people and government,he believed that the government had its necessity and rationality, the government itself hadthe nature of class, and the government’s objective was to maximize the protection ofpersonal freedom.This paper reviewed the evolution of M.N. Roy’s political thought in the differentforms of the revolutions, explored on the causes of the ideological transformation, revealedof the results of disillusionment, attempted to objectively evaluate the historical effect ofM.N. Roy.
