| Arctic sovereignty dispute was on the table for a long time. It becomes hot again between great-power relations in international affairs with today’s growing economic interests. At first sight, the sovereignty dispute in the Arctic Ocean is a scramble for energy, waterways and other interests of the game. However, in terms of international politics, such a contention for many countries, especially in Central Arctic countries has a far-reaching significance, and is inseparable with the developing national interests and national strategies. Thus a unique wisdom and long-term vision should be thought out to seek cooperation and common development for controversy.As the Arctic countries, cooperation and conflict in the Arctic between Norway and Russia had a very long history, since the Arctic region has a large number of common and overlapping interests. The two sides around the continental shelf in the Barents Sea region, the economic zone, the outer continental shelf and other issues produced a demarcation dispute. With the development of the international law of the sea, as well as resources, the rising of strategic importance of the Arctic region, these two countries want to consolidate and expand their national interests. To achieve this goal, these two countries in various fields continue to seek areas of cooperation in the Barents Sea, and eventually signed an agreement in 2010 to solve the demarcation disputes.This paper will discuss:1.The process of dispute resolution and their standpoint.2.
