Study On The Demand Of Home-based Care For Empty-nest Aged In Rural Area

As economic and social development, the speeding up of urbanization, and the aging of the population growing, rural endowment problem is more prominent, especially in the empty-nest aged. The size of the family is increasingly central and small,family functioning continuously weakening,and the development of pension agency is insufficient, but Rural endowment concept of existing rural residents and economic development level not allowed to social endowment and institution endowment fully replacing family endowment. Home-based care service for old-age becomes an effective pension service model to solve empty-nest aged endowment problem.Demand is the main motivation of human life, to provide effective home-based care services in rural areas for empty-nest aged,it is necessary to understand these requirements. Due to the great changes in empty-nest family intergenerational relationships, empty-nest aged children not for a long time at home, they have different demand from other old people groups. In this study, rural community of central region is as the research survey, rural empty-nest aged as investigation object over 60 and adopts questionnaire and interview method to collection information,the influence off actors operating variables into two levels: the level of personal characteristics and social characteristics level. This study will be Maslow’s and Bradshaw’s theory as the rural elderly life endowment the theoretical basis of demand. Through questionnaire and interview, this study is divided into daily life service demand, medical and health care service demand, spiritual comfort service demand and leisure entertainment services demand four levels, and analyzes the specific requirements of the empty-nest aged to home endowment service. The study finds that medical and health care service demand is the current rural empty-nest aged the most pressing family endowment service demand, followed by spiritual comfort service demand and daily life service demand, and entertainment service demand being a minimum.This study analyzes and discusses that the rural empty-nest aged personal characteristics and social characteristics influence the above four demand. And on this basis,age, living style, marriage status and family income of empty-nest aged could influence the above four demand. At the same time, the relationship between children and the parents and the system of rural society affect the demand of empty-nest aged to a certain extent. It provides the basis to meet the needs of the empty-nest aged at home in rural.This study describes the general conclusion about the demand home-based care services of empty-nest aged in rural communities and discusses new phenomenon and new problems of the demand home-based care services of empty-nest aged with economic and social development、labor mobility and the speeding up of urbanization. On this basis, this study explores the methods to solve the problems of the demand home-based care services of empty-nest aged in rural and puts forward some suggestions toward the reality. This article proposed the following for improvement:carry out demand oriented for home-based care services,provide the hierarchical home endowment service,create a good respect for empty-nest aged to respect atmosphere and build a "government,family,communities" trinity of home-based care service system.
