The Construction Of Urban Empty-Nesters Social Support Network Research

In the 21 st century, China’s population gradually entered the aging stage, by the end of 2013, the number of elderly people over 60 years in our country has exceeded to 200 million, accounting for 14.9% of the total population. Some experts predict that as time goes on, in 2050 the proportion will increase to 30%. A substantial increase in elderly population, while the pressure of the whole society increases too. The proportion of the elderly population increases represents the number of laborers is gradually reduced, that will reducing the efficiency of social production; In addition, after a large number of elderly retirees, issuing a large number of retirement benefits, pension and other financial allocation in China is not a small influence. Therefore, aging trends increased the country’s pension burden.Due to the competitiveness of large social consciousness,weak support for the elderly, values conflict and other reasons, led to some elderly people separated with their children, so that the large scale elderly will be derived from a new group- empty nesters. Because their children are not around, empty nesters will face more problems, the result will be a lot of needs for empty nesters pension. So empty nesters pension worthy of whole society’s attention.In this paper,we pay attention to empty nesters ‘s three needs: economic support, life care, spiritual comfort, through the use of community work professional approach and the investigation of L City T-community. Community-based activities, case interviews, analyzed the causes of empty nesters demand, combined with the theory of social support, empowerment theory, resilience theory, to construct a community-based, linked the social workers, neighborhood networks, home networks with mutual influence, provide for the government that social support network mode is recommended countermeasures.This study discussed the five aspects: the first part explain the purpose and significance of the research, based on the relevant literature review and presentation on the basis of relevant theories to explain the background and research methods. The second part is through the community work methods for collect the L City T-community related data. The third part is mainly explained by the research of empty nesters’ s social support, analyzed and summarized the needs of T-community empty nesters. The fourth part is according to the needs of T-community empty nesters, build several aspects of support networks and exert the networks function. The fifth part is described in this paper according to the support networks, put forward the countermeasures and suggestions.
