Marx and Engels criticized capitalism sharply, revealed the irreconcilable contradiction between productive forces and productive relations. They pointed out the periodicity of capitalist economic crisis and the fate of capitalism to perish eventually. However, after a few centuries, capitalism is still there. Every time a crisis occurs, capitalism can restore its vitality and keep developing after a period of self-regulation. This doesn’t mean capitalism can grow forever, because economic crisis isn’t the only result of capitalist unlimited production and consumption logic. After two industrial revolutions, the whole capitalist economy obtained remarkable achievements, but side effects followed:environmental pollution and ecological damage. Ecological crisis is becoming a bigger threat to human survival and development. Unlike economic crisis, ecological damage is irreversible. Cases like "Eight World Environmental Pollution Events" have already damaged world economy and human survival. It is becoming a world issue to maintain a stable economy and resolve the ecological crisis at the same time. Scholars from home and abroad are trying everything to solve this issue, eco-socialism is one of all these theories. In the paper, we combine traditional eco-socialism and more operational economic democracy to build a brand new eco-socialism, hoping we can find an effective way to maintain a stable economy and resolve the ecological crisis at the same time. Contents as follows:Exordium includes significance and purpose of this research, general situation of eco-socialism from home and abroad, research ideas, possible innovations and deficiencies. The second part elaborates the cause of capitalist crisis. For a long time, we put lots of concerns on economic crisis and ignore the existence of ecological crisis. However, the latter may be a bigger threat to mankind. The third part describes the characterization and limitations of green capitalism. To solve ecological crisis, some economists and ecologists propose "green capitalism". It’s essentially a reform without changing social institution. Given the non-democracy and bad operability, green capitalism is a dead end. We need a more democratic and more operational one.The fourth part is the introduction of economic democracy. Economic democracy advocates a more rational, more democratic, more equal and more operational way. But economic democracy can’t be implemented in capitalism, because their values conflict. We need socialism. The fifth part is the construction of a new eco-socialism. This part is the key of this paper. We need to introduce eco-socialism’s concept, Saral Sarkar’ eco-socialism and its deficiencies. After that, we need to build a new eco-socialism.Conclusion. In this part, we make a summary of the whole paper and forecast the possible problems and research directions of eco-socialism in the future.
