Operating Elements And Roles In The Development Of Rural Civil Organizations

Since the reform and opening-up, rural economy and rural nongovernmental organization have developed very quickly, which has brought about many problems: these nongovernmental organizations can hardly get the permission of government through the registration; lack of money, activity fields as well as villagers’ participation; the relationship with village committee is irregular; the division of labor is nor clear within the association, lack of the understanding and support from villagers and so on. Chinese senior citizen association was created in the1970 s, under the condition of increasing aging population in China,senior citizen association became a force to be reckoned with in the rural community life.The thesis presents a case object research on a senior citizen association of Wei Village, Yizhou City, Guangxi as the case study object, using the anthropology research methods of field research, oral history arrangement and literature consultation. Through a thorough analysis of the founding background, operation and function of this senior citizen association.Wei Village senior citizen association is not only a member of entertaining within an organization, but also by reforming the traditional ritual activities around the village public facilities as well as the organization of the villagers to provide public services, a variety of activities such as cultural undertakings of wei village community construction and management has played a positive role.Therefore,further research on the healthy and long-term development of seniorcitizen association and its experience will be of important academic value and practical reference significance.
