Family Characteristics And Urban Elderly Leisure Studies

Chinese society aging degree is deepened, so the study of the elderly population is becoming more and more important. Because of the elderly retired life has the characteristics of reduce work time and leisure time increased, the study of the elderly leisure life also becomes very necessary. This research direction of this study identified as domestic population characteristics. The data from China’s general social survey 2006 survey(CGSS2006), and select the 60 to 70- year- o ld citizens as the research object in the elderly. Using the SPSS statistical analys is software, describes the statistics of the current Chinese urban elderly of all kinds of leisure activities to participate in the frequency and the characteristics of main domestic population d istribution. Choose multip le regression method to analyze the influence of family population characteristics of the elderly leisure life.The results showed that: Chinese urban elderly people to choose the most activity is watching TV, reading newspapers and take part in physical exerc ise. Browse the Internet, chatting on the Internet and playing video games, go to the pub cafe is the elderly to participate in the lowest frequency activity. Empty nest family will have a negative effect on ind ividual entertainment and leisure index. There are two men in the family members will exert negative impact on Individual entertainment and leisure index. Household income for individual entertainment, group entertainment, leisure index three aspects have a negative impact. Number of brothers and sisters in the family have a negative impact on group entertainment. Widow have a positive impact on group entertainment. Life course theory is pointed out that the generation characteristics of the elderly shape the urban elderly leisure partic ipation, and family characteristics and urban elderly leisure activities invo lved in statistical results show that the "dependent life model" of traditional Chinese o ld people still profoundly affects the elderly leisure activities to participate in social action.
