Since the reform and opening up, with the continuous development of China’s economy and society, the administrative system are constantly changing. The function of government is gradually shifting from the control-oriented mode to service-oriented mode, and the government is giving more and more attention to the performance assessment. As an important part of the government, the function and scope of the public security are gradually expanding, and at the same time, the ensuing police management, incompatible contradictions of its functions has also been prominent. Public security work in the new period is no longer the police work in the traditional sense, but more focused on providing quality and efficient services to citizens and the public safety community. As the most important part, the Policing Performance Assessment has been reached broad consensus at home and abroad. How to police the reasonable and effective performance appraisal, and promote the management of public security organs has becoming issues of concern. Taking A municipal public security bureau as an example, the study of the performance assessment in public security for the purpose of integrating police forces resources, rationally distributing police forces, increasing efficiency, arousing police’s enthusiasm and creativity, as well as raising the administrative efficiency of the public security.This paper analyze the present situation of police service performance assessment in A city, including the basic present situation of police service inspection, the inspection system of police service, that discovers the following problems, including the original immobilization of assessment projects, the results failure to respond actual achievements, the assessment indicators are not easy to control, the existence of disadvantages in the process of police service achievements in public security organ. On the basis, the paper proposes the new strategy of police service achievements inspection, and makes a feasible analysis, from the level of the policy and procedure. In the end, through setting the performance assessment indicators reasonably, it provides a strong guarantee various resources, the multi-angle performance appraisal police supervision, an the establishment of police performance evaluation results and other methods to improve the new evaluation system assessment program.
