There are many researches on the agricultural economy and the industrial economy after the October Revolution, however, only few among them are on the relationship between workers and peasants and the evolution of the relationship from the angle of class. Class theory is the basis of the Marxist theory. After the October Revolution, the social environment has undergone some major changes--- the working class transformed into leading class from the oppressed and exploited class and serfs transformed into masters of society as well. In this new historical environment, how to deal with the relationship between workers and peasants and how to further consolidate the worker-peasant alliance became a question of questions after the proletariat wielded the sceptre of revolution. The author reads treatises on workers and peasants by Lenin and some other contemporary leaders, collects related research findings, adheres to principles of combination of theory with history and theory evolving from history, manages to summarize Lenin’s thoughts on the relationship between workers and peasants after the October Revolution along historical trajectory on the basis of reading the original literature and combines it with the social practice of that time to evaluate and analyse their historical value and to learn lessons. During the early days of the October Revolution, many of the measures taken by the Bolshevik Party lived up to the expectations of workers and peasants by radically addressing the issues of bread and land which were highly concerned. Therefore, the Bolshevik Party won their support, which laid class foundation for the victory of the Great Patriotic War. The policy of War Communism created conditions for winning the war but also paid high prices---harming the interests of farmers and deteriorating the relationship between workers and peasants. Implementation of the new economic policy protected the fundamental economic interests of farmers and eased the relations between workers and peasants. Lenin dictated “On Artel” against this background, in which he clearly stated that “Russia’s artel is of great and immeasurable significance to us”. With the recovery and development of cooperative economy, Lenin found out the way to combine the private interests and national interests, to consolidate the union of “proletariat and millions of tiny farmers and teeny farmers”, and to ensure the proletariat’s leadership over peasants. However, after Lenin’s death, along with the intense struggle within the party, the new economic policy was forced to suspend, the road of consolidating the worker-peasant alliance through artel was blocked. Thus, the relationship between workers and peasants was strained again. After the October Revolution, Lenin made arduous quests for the Communist Party to solve the problems of worker-peasant alliance in the ruling environment, left behind a lot of valuable experience and lessons and put forward many inspiring thoughts. One can draw lessons from the past if one doesn’t forget it. Today, the re-study of Lenin’s quests to resolve the problems of the relationship between workers and peasants after the October Revolution still has practical significance.
