The Japanese sailed across East Sea to translate the advanced law systemfrom China in the ancient times, however, what happened in the modern historyis just the opposite. In this way, the law flows between these two countries, andhas been a link between China and Japan. In the Tang dynasty, Japanesemimicked all aspects of China: political reform, penal reform, knowledge andChinese character. In a word, Japan made a full range of absorption of China, including the culture hidden in it.By using China’s law system, Japan finished its political reform on rankand class, constitution, official system, and finished its penal reform on enactingcriminal law. What’s more, the development of poetry and painting wasachieved, the Japanese words were created. All of the above cases were theconsequences of Japan’s imitation. Thanks to China’s law system, Japan passedfrom blindness to civilization. The absorption of China’s law system made Japan and China have manysimilarities. The organization of the Central Government of the Tang Dynasty is“three sheng six bu”, while Japan’s is “two guan eight sheng”. In the ancienttimes, there was Zhou Gong who making rites in China, and Shoto Kutaishiproclaimed17Iterms Constitution in Japan. In the Tang Law, there was “eightcategories”,“ten evils”, while in the Code of Japan, there was “six categories”,“hachigyaku”.Japan is not only absorbing system of China, but also influenced byChinese culture. Poetry is the most famous part of the Tang Dynasty. Li Bai andWang Wei are famous poets of that time. Abe Nakamaro is a friend of them, theyhave no trouble in communication. Knowing the terrible news of his death, LiBai wrote the poem “cry for Chao”. And when the fake news cleaned up. Abe Nakamaro came back to Changan again, he was moved by Li’s poem and wrotethe poem “Looking Homeward”.Since modern times, the development of China has lagged behind becauseof the long period of isolation. Western powers humiliated China and viewed itas inferior nation. Although Japan experienced the same thing, it changedrapidly and extensively after the Meiji Restoration, and became the onlyindependent country by mentioning “Moving in Asia from Europe”. And then,Japan win a landslide victory in Sino-Japanese naval battle. After that, Chinasent numbers students to Japan to learn western advanced culture. The movement of sending students came up from modern history. The mostinfluenced internal students to modern history were students who sent to Japan.Chinese students who learned in Japan made indelible contribution to thedevelopment in reforming by the advanced culture they learned. What’s more, the translation work they finished accelerated the communication of westernculture in China. The Japanese Kanji is simplified from Hanzi, and the Code of Japan andhistory book are written by Hanzi. Since modern history, Japanese has createdevery kind of terms during translating western works by using Hanzi, especiallyin legal. Many legal terms are created by Japanese, and this deepened thecommunication between China and Japan. The communication of law culture between China and Japan has a longhistory. The history proved it is good for both of these two countries. And thiscommunication should be kept.
