With the continuous improvement of the comprehensive national strength,China is increas-ingly approaching the center of the world stage.In the process of deep integration and mutual agitation with the world,it is crucial to know how to tell Chinese stories and show the world a true,three-dimensional,and comprehensive China.In this context,Professor Huang Huilin from Beijing Normal University proposes the "Third Pole Cultural" Theory for the first time in history,seeking to find the world coordinates for Chinese culture.In order to better promote the internation al dissemination of Chinese culture based on the theory of the "Third Pole Culture"," Looking China · International Youth Film Project" came into being.This project aims to invites young students of film and television studies from foreign universities to go to China and make documentary films reflecting the Chinese culture and contemporary Chinese social life style for audiences the world over so as to enhance the international influence of Chinese culture.The "Looking China" project has set up an good example for non-governmental organizations to conduct large-scale cross-cultural communication activities and it is of great significance to the international spread of Chinese culture.Under the background of cross-cultural communication activities,based on related theories of communication studies,this paper carries out a theoretical analysis on " Looking China · International Youth Film Project" through questionnaire survey and data analysis,etc.In Chapter I,this paper addresses briefly the current situation and the development of " Looking China · International Youth Film Project" though a brief overview of its origin and background before providing a summary and analysis of the communication mechanism and channels of various activities under study.In Chapter II,by way of investigating the communication effect with an examination of the outstanding pieces and interviews with participants from the project,I try to explore the productive mechanism within the project with an aim to display its features.In Chapter III,based on the previous analysis,through the analysis of the theme selection,project setting and production form of the content,combined with its use of communication media,this paper tries to summarize its enlightening significance for cross-cultural communication activities in China.Thus by the above examination and analysis,this paper aims to lay some scientific theoretical basis and to provide practical inspiration for domestic cross-cultural communication activities,so that these activities in China can receive better effect.It also hopes to open a broader mindset for the development of the cross-cultural communication and the promotion of Chinese culture,and eventually make contributions to the effective international communication of Chinese culture.
