A Research About The Coal Worker’s Spiritual Needs

Under the background of high concern energy industry, occupying dominant position’s thermal power generation, and booming coal mine industry, coal miners are increasing salaries gradually and enhancing material life level, however, their spiritual needs still not get full attention while coal miners are traditionally treated as high-risk job field. The purpose of this essay is to get the first-hand materials of coal miners’ spiritual needs through surveying H City A Provincial miners, to explore high-risk job coal miners’ spiritual demands, the causes and the solutions. The result shows that coal miners have high demand on safety as this job has high risk; social support and interpersonal relationship is good but narrow circle; self-confidence level is not high, but they have higher self-esteem demands; generally not satisfied with self-fulfilling. The reason why cause this conditions includes:this job own characteristics; company arrangements and rules are imperfect; miners’ level of education is not high; spiritual life emptiness, etc. In order to well satisfy coal miners’ spiritual demands, the government, businesses, communities, miners and other aspects need to work together; at the same time, develop the mining social work; with the power of social workers, further improve each aspects of work; push coal miners’ carrying out spiritual needs gradually.
