South Asia is China’s important neighbors. The western border security,stability in Tibet and China’s peaceful rise is closely associated with south Asian countries.China’s South Asia policy is an important part to realize our strategic significance.the paper focuses on China’s South Asia policy after the cold war.The relationship between India and Pakistan is the backbone of south Asian regional state-to-state relations. From the main trends,India and Pakistan have regard each other as the biggest competitors.They have been in a state of confrontation for a long time.The three wars between India and Pakistan and countless local border conflict make the two countries realize that antagonism is not good for both sides,so the ways to solve the dispute are constantly explored. In South Asia,the battle between the United States and the Soviet union has intensified the complexity of the region during the cold war.The United States views Pakistan as a forefront to stop the Soviet union into the Indian Ocean,the Soviet union makes use of India to compete with America.After the cold war,the adjustment of big country’s policy in South Asia changed the geopolitical pattern,also had a dual impact to our country. With the change of international situation and the adjustment of international relations.India actively reduces the distance with the United States,deepens the friendly relations with Russia,and the relations with China have obvious change.This paper mainly discusses China’s South Asia policy after the cold war. From the Angle of historical development, the adjustments and changes of China South Asia policy before and after the cold war are combed. The india-pakistan policy of China is influenced by the thinking mode and the ideology of the cold war during the cold war. China didn’t adjust the domestic and foreign policy and redesign india-pakistan policy from the perspective of national interests until the late70’s. This paper analyzes the main content of Chinese india-pakistan policy after the cold war:dispel misgivings,develop good-neighborly and friendly relations with India, expand cooperation, deepen the traditional friendship with Pakistan, advocate denuclearization, safeguard regional peace and security. The article evaluates the achievements and disadvantages of the india-pakistan policy of China, then the development of our Chinese india-pakistan policy was put forward:seek interests combining site between the China and India, support and strengthen the counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan,deal with india-pakistan conflict prudently and play a coordinating role.
