The term “Chinese dream”was put forward the first by the chairman of ournational,Xi Jinping,on November29,2012.Since then, the “Chinese dream”has becomethe focus of the network media, newspapers and TV,enterprises and institutions.It as anew guiding ideology and target to pursue in our country, has caused the extensiveconcern of the entire Chinese people.But as early as in1931,James, Truslow Adams inhis book "the American epic," has proposed the term "American dream", U.S. presidentBarack Obama in his victory speech, put forward the "American dream" in theNovember6,2012and the "American dream" enters the sights of the world again.From the the connotation of the "Chinese dream" and the "American dream",wecan see that the "Chinese dream" is to achieve the great renewal of the Chinese nation,itis to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and it is a country rich andstrong, rejuvenation, people’s happiness."American dream" is the pursuit of democracy,freedom and equality, wealth and success through personal effort.From the historical origin of the "Chinese dream" and the "American dream",wecan see that the "Chinese dream" originated in China with a long history and profoundtraditional culture.From Lao zi’s dream of “Wu Wei “and Kong zi’s dream of “Datong”,the”Chinese dream “experienced the powerful dream of saving nation Inmodern times,the dream of "revitalization of the Chinese" after our country wasfounded,and the dream of national rejuvenation now.”Chinese dream” recreates thetortuous development of Chinese history.On the other hand,the "American dream"originated in the puritans escaping from religious persecution and the pursuit ofmaterial wealth.The immigrants’ ideas of freedom and equality come from theIdeological liberation movement just like the European Renaissance and theenlightenment.The "American dream" has experienced the vigorous development of the"westward movement" and the decline in the monopoly capitalism period.When weenter the21st century in the new period, Black American President Obama again withits own growing experience shows the powerful and unique charm of the "Americandream".There are great differences in the culture background, connotation, values,the way and the ultimate goal between the “Chinese dream” and the” American dream”.The"Chinese dream" nourish by Confucian traditional culture, while the "Americandream" is produced under the infiltration of capitalist culture.The subject and object ofthe "Chinese dream" contains all the Chinese people, while the "American dream" hasnot really come true the "equality".The”Chinese dream” emphasizes oncollectivism,while the “American dream”more believe in individualism.The realizationof the "Chinese dream" relies on the joint efforts of the people, and the realization of the"American dream" can only rely on personal struggle. The "Chinese dream" pursuits itsdevelopment and the harmony of the world, while the "American dream" pursuit ofpersonal wealth increase and maintain national status.But the "Chinese dream" and the"American dream" also exist similarities.They all covers the hard struggle from thesetwo countries’ persons.They all reflect the urgent need of cultural soft power,and theyare sure of the brave pursuit of self-worth.Through to the comparative study of the "Chinese dream" and the "Americandream",we can get some enlightenment.First of all,whether countries or individual,they all need a dream.The dream cangive you the motivation and direction.Second,the respect of the "American dream" forthe individual value,the notice for the social equity and justice and the faith for thebelief are worth our using for reference.Finally, we will unswervingly adhere to reformand innovation, realize the "Chinese dream".
