Now, the aging in our country has increased. With the rapid social transformation,great changes have taken place in our modern family structure and the way of life. Ourcountry has gradually presented the “low birth rate, low death rate” model. Familystructure is changing, so more and more elders in the empty nest are in “care risk”.Under the circumstances researches on the aged welfare model have been carried outthroughout the country. Community home endowment has been put forward. As a newendowment mode, community home endowment has becoming more and moreimportant in the elderly security system with its advantages on human, material andregional resources, supporting various pension services. The government and scholarsbegin to focus on the topic on establishment and improvement of the communityendowment service, which will provide diversified services according to actual demandof the elders in empty nest.Based on the achievements of domestic and foreign scholars on this topic andmethods of field investigation and date analysis, this paper chooses Taiyuan city assample and conducts field investigation in several typical communities to identify thepension demands of elders in empty nester in sample city and situation of thecommunity home endowment service, exploring achievements and problems oncommunity home endowment service in Taiyuan. It aims to put forward suggestions onestablishment of community home endowment service, and provide some clues oncommunity home endowment in empty nests in other cities.It is of great significance to build perfect community home endowment servicesystem of urban empty nests to adapt to the ageing population and changing familystructure, which will effectively integrate endowment of resources in government,society and family. It is a long way to go and we need to continue to explore.
