In recent years, with the modernization, urbanization, China’s urban showing a "low birth rate and high mortality rate" mode, followed by family structure is shrinking, empty nesters increasing. According to the national aging committee published studies of the urban home endowment service report, In2009the proportion of urban empty nest family in China has reached49.7%, This ratio is higher in some large and medium-sized cities, and even reached56.1%. By2030, China’s empty nest family proportion will reach90%. Giving these older adequate care, allowing them to enjoy the beautiful sunset is both our responsibility and the important part to ensure social stability and harmony. In the face of such condition, our country’s present endowment service quality and level are not so good. Both the elderly life care and spiritual service performance have system cannot meet the demand of its service. In the text, Firstly, the author make a clear defined with the empty nest families and un-empty nest families’definition. Traced and multifaceted analysis, pointed out reasons of empty-nest families’forming. As well as the special needs of the empty nest older. Next, the author analysis the status of China’s urban pension service and some problems in it. Last, Learning some experience from regions inside and outside and then puts forward some proposal and measures to develop our urban empty nest pension services. The sustainable development of the city empty nester pension service system to cope with the increasingly serious pension situation has very important significance. At the same time, it is a very difficult task, we need to explore.
