As the first black president in American history,Obama was beset with difficulties and contradictions both in internal and external affairs when his takeover of the presidency, his foreign policy would be undoubtedly anticipated. As Sino-U.S. Relation becomes to be regarded as the most important bilateral relations in the 21st century,Obama’s coming into power makes scholars in both China and America pay much attention and expectation to the Sino-U.S. Relation. However, the Obama administration’s policy toward China has been showing the overall declining trend, which makes the reason that the implementation of Obama’s China policy is affected by many factors, especially many related factors central to the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue have become most vital independent variables in Obama’s formulating policy toward china. On one hand, the Obama administration attempts to accelerate its return to the Asia Pacific region as well as to curb the rapid rise of China by involving the situation on the Korean Peninsula; on the other hand, the relation between China and DPRK and ROK, the Interrelation between two Koreas and the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula contrarily restrict the implementation of Obama’s China policy. This article is mainly researching on the Korean Peninsula factor in Obama administration’s China policy and analyzing the strategy and interest convergence of both countries in the Northeast region,to fully explain the bidirectional restraint role of the Korean peninsula in the development of the Sino-U.S. Relation and find the variables to build a Sino-US model of great power relations and how China should use these variables correctly to handle the relationship between China and America. The first chapter of main text introduces the main thread of Obama’s policy towards China in various period after he came to power. The second chapter expounds the theoretical source of America’s China policy such as the sea power theory, the edge zone theory. And the third chapter discusses the respective regional strategies in Northeast Asia between China and America and the status of the Korean Peninsula. The following fourth chapter and the fifth chapter focus on the influence of the Korean Peninsula on the Obama administration’s China policy and the variable factor in structuring the new great power relations between China and America, and China’s countermeasures.
