In today’s world, science and technology is developing at a high speed. The information technology, in particular, is growing at an unprecedented rate. It is widely used in all aspects of social and economic life. Information has become important strategic resources and decision-making resources for social development and the soul to control the battlefield. In the information society, there is no guarantee for the national security without the guarantee for the information security. With China’s increasing openness and integration into the world at an accelerating pace, the information security has had a profound impact on all the aspects of national security.The national reform and development is in a period of historical transition and the burst of contradictions. The connection between the interests of society is becoming ever more complex, and the new situations and problems are coming out one after another. Given the changes both in the content and the means of the threat to national security, information security research and application, and gaining information superiority is particularly important to national security. China should fully recognize the important role of information security in national security, fully raise information security awareness among the whole society, attach great importance to the training and deployment of information security professionals, and improve the legal safeguards mechanism to ensure the national security and stability in order to contribute to build a socialist harmonious society.The first chapter describes the basic concepts, main features and strategic position of information technology in the national security, thereby laying the foundation for the discussion of the following issues. The second chapter fully analyses the threat to the fields of the national politics, economy, culture and military affairs brought by the information and information security, setting up a background for the later thinking of strengthening of China’s information security and coping strategies. The third chapter analyzes the impact of information security on China’s national security. The fourth chapter analyzes the problems our government faces in the field of the information security. The fifth chapter introduces the countermeasures of the western countries. The sixth chapter proposes the countermeasures to the chinese government. The final chapter summarizes the thesis, outlines the significance of the topic and some thoughts on the writing process.Looking to the future, the information is most representative of the overall national strategic resources. Information security is the basis of information resources protection and the assurance for the information process to develop in a healthy and orderly way. It is related to national security, national rise and decline and national wars. It is a top priority for China.Without information security, there is no political, military, cultural and economic security in its real sense. Let us all concern national information security and make efforts to safeguard national security and achieve national rejuvenation.
