The Nansha Islands as a communicative throat connecting the Pacific ocean and the Indianocean, is not only rich in oil, gas, minerals and fishery resources, and is an important sea lanes forChina to communicate with the world. almost all the sea and air routes through the south Chinasea will go through the nansha islands. The control of the nansha islands nearly means the controlof sea channels between the East Asia and the West Asia and the Africa and Europe. Therefor, ithas a very important position.China is the earliest country of discovering, naming, developing and managing the nanshaislands and is also the earliest country having jurisdiction. China has sufficient historical basis andlegal basis to prove the nansha islands and their adjacent waters has been an inalienable part ofChina since ancient times. The Philippines is the first country to put forward the requirements ofthe"sovereignty" of the south China sea in southeast Asian countries. since the1970s, thePhilippines encroached nine islands, including the Thitu Island, the Northeast Cay, and it alsoconstantly provokes Huangyan Island dispute and want to take possession of it.Influence of the south China sea dispute has a variety of factors, and the south China seadispute also has a great influence on China. Solution of the south China sea dispute between Chinaand the Philippines will not only help China to solve the south China sea dispute with othercountries, reduce tensions in the south China sea area, and also help China to build a peacefulsurroundings in order to focus on economic and social development and to promote themodernization of China.This thesis, literature research, analyzes the origin and current situation of the south Chinasea dispute based on various of materials,revealing the factors which cause the south China seadispute, expounding the influence of this dispute on China and discussing the countermeasures ofChina to response the south China sea dispute.This thesis give an analysis of the south China seadispute through four parts:The first part analyzes the origin and current situation of the south China sea dispute. Thispart proves that China has sufficient historical basis and legal basis to prove the legitimacy of the sovereignty of the south China sea and through the analysis of the origin and development of thesouth China sea dispute, we will find that the Philippines’ declaration of the jurisdication of thesouth China sea comes from the geopolitical factors, economic factors and a variety of factorssuch as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.In the second part, the paper analyses the various factors which influence the south China seadispute. This part emphatically analyzes the development and changes of the south China seadispute from the factors of Philippines, south China sea surrounding countries and other countries.Philippines’ policy in the south China sea policy, such as actively promotes the Association ofSoutheast Asian nations to participate in the south China sea dispute, tries to take advantage of theoutside great powers intervention to maintain its possession of status, alleviate the pressure of thedomestic political, the interests of the military and energy interests demand and all those factorswill push the south China sea dispute intensified; and Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia andcountries surrounded south China sea such as the ASEAN will also affect the relationship betweenthe Philippines in the south China sea; Japan, Russia, India and other regional powers’interference will also prompt the south China sea dispute internationalized and complicated.In the third part, the paper analyzes the impact on China of the south China sea dispute.Through the analysis of the contents of this part, this paper reveals the conflict between China andthe Philippines about the south China sea dispute will influence China’s national security,economic development environment,and can also affect the relations between China and ASEAN.The south China sea dispute will damage the interests of China’s geopolitical strategy in the southChina sea and the linkage of the Philippines and other outside powers forms an " island chain",which will threaten China’s national security and will constantly threaten China’s nationalsecurity. And the Philippines in the south China sea plunders large amounts of oil and gasresources, fishery resources, threatening China sea transport channel and economic security,affecting China’s economic development environment; At the same time, affecting the economicexchanges and trade with ASEAN, making the diplomatic relations between China and ASEAN ata risk of "landslide" which will affect internal relations of ASEAN, thus affecting the relationshipbetween China andASEANThe fourth part discusses the solutions of China to solve this dispute. This part analyzes thestrategy of China from five aspects. First, China should continue to adhere to the principle of "sovereignty belongs to me, shelving differences and seeking joint development" and adhere toChina’s sovereignty over the south China sea,under the principle of sovereign equality, peacefulcoexistence, shelving dispute and seeking joint development to promote mutual strategic trust andshare benefit. At the meantime, China should strengthen the construction of sea power. First, to setup correct ocean strategy, as well as build the coast guard with Chinese characteristics, usecomprehensively the military and geopolitical factors to deal with geopolitical relations; establishthe modern Marine industry system to maintain the right of the sea of the south China sea throughvarious measures, stick on sovereign position at the same time maintain a good relationship withthe outside powers, strengthen strategic mutual trust between China and the United States, activelydeal with the actions of Japan in Nanhai, maintain a good relationship with other countries such asIndia, Russia, strengthen the cooperation and communication of both sides, jointly safeguard thecore interests of the China; deal with all kinds of geopolitical relations, at the time give account ofboth rights and stability, correctly deal with the "direct line" and "interest", as well as deal with therelations with the ASEAN to strengthen industry cooperation with the Philippines....
