After the Second War Two, Germany has become the one of theGreat Powers in the world, playing an indispensable role in Europe.State of Israel doesn’t have a vast territory, while it has become apowerful nation in the Middle East. Therefore, the relationshipbetween Germany and Israel has proved to be a high-profile in theinternational society. During the War time, the Holocaust caused byGerman Nazi leaves an agonizing impression on Jews. Surprisingly,the relationship between Germany and Israel has obtained aconsiderable development. The division of German, GermanDemocratic Republic dominated disclaimed the responsibility forIsrael, so in my thesis, I just analyze the relationship between theFederal Republic of Germany and Israel. which is deeply affected byhistorical factor, Although the Holocaust has casted a shadow overthe relationship, yet the Federal Republic of Germany sincerelyrepented of former misdeeds. Meanwhile, Israel government alsoovercame the obstruction, considering the predicament faced bycountry home and abroad. Accordingly, Israel has been determinedto mend the relationship with West Germany and has clarified thefurther development under compensation system by signingrelative treaties. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, political standpoint of the Federal Republic of Germany met withcrisis, which makes it cautiously measure the stakes betweenIsrael and other Arab States. At the same time, State of Israel alsoreconsidered the policy to West Germany. All the factors has led towhether to probe for relationship’s development between nations.After the reunification of Germany, it has continued to cooperatewith Israel in various fields, which also brings into line withdiplomatic policy. Either international situations or each policiestowards the Middle East and US-Soviet Cold War have produced agreat impact on the relationship between Germany and Israel.Domestic researches on the relationship between West Germanand Israel mainly discuss from the point on the compensation ofGerman for Israel. The paper is aimed at analyzing the relationshipbetween the two countries after war. This paper divided intointroduction, text, and epilogue. The introduction mainly explainsthe purpose and significance of the topic and introduces therelevant research dynamic at home and abroad. The text first partmainly analyzes the historical relationship between German andJewish as well as the persecution of Germany for Jews and thereasons. The second part mainly introduces the negotiations on theissue of compensation and its causes between the two countriesduring their initially contacting period. The third part analyzesvarious cooperation and the according causes between the twocountries in political, economic and military aspects during theperiod of the gradual normalization. The fourth part analyzes theperformance and its causes between the two countries in political,economic aspects during the relatively cool-down period. The fifth part focuses on the cooperation in the political, economic, military,technological, cultural and other aspects with Israel after theGerman’s reunification; The last part is about the conclusion of thispaper with a comprehensive summary.
