In May 2001, the State Council of the People’s Republic of China has enacted a new law Decision on the Reform and Development of Elementary Education, which clearly requires adjusting the layout of rural compulsory education school in accordance of the local conditions, optimizing of education resources according to the principles of nearest primary school for children, centralizing junior educational resources and the distribution of school should be more rational. Since then, the rural areas of China began to adjust the distribution of primary and secondary schools massively and officially. More than a decade of layout adjustment basically achieved its initial purpose, namely, education resources has optimized, education quality has improved, the management of education sector has facilitated, and the balanced development of compulsory education has promoted. But the process also produced many problems, including noteworthy point that the layout adjustment has a variety of effects on rural culture construction. Rural culture construction improvement of living standards is so important for the villagers and cultural development in rural areas. Rural cultural construction is the meaning of the construction of socialist culture in China. The significance of this study is to provides a new theoretical perspective for the study of new rural culture construction and some reference for the construction of countryside culture, besides, to broaden the research horizons of the derivative problems of the reform.As the only public education resources in rural areas, The village school not only carries the function of imparting knowledge and cultivating students, but also the mission of building rural culture. It’s an important carrier for rural cultural inheritance and development. It is the place that the villagers carry out cultural activities and the symbol of rural civilization. Rural schools have a significant impact on the whole intellectual life, spiritual life and cultural life. There is no doubt that the village school’s departure has profound influence on the local villages.This thesis is based on the materials collected by research and survey data from the village L of Zhejiang province. And it analyzed the predicament and causes of the rural cultural life after the village school disappeared. It involves many aspects as Civilization Benchmark missing caused by the disappearance of the Culture Highland, the more bored villagers culture life, village’s culture empty without main culture, emotional desalination in neighborhoods as a consequence of the students living on campus, lack of endogenous ability with rural cultural life.This study is trying to weaken and even dissolve the negative effects of rural culture which caused by the disappearance of village school, to meet villagers’needs and to promote the prosperity and development of the rural culture. This paper puts forward five solutions following:The first solution is to increase the financial input in rural culture and ensure the supply of cultural resources; The second one is to cultivate cultural consciousness and shape the new rural farmers; The third one is to develop rural characteristic culture and improve the quality of the villagers’ leisure; The forth one is to cultivate local cultural talents and fill the vacancy of teachers:The last one is to create emotional communication opportunities and strength the relationship between neighbors.
