Smoking is a chronic addiction behavior, and it could also cause many respiratory systems, digestive system diseases. Nowadays, tobacco dependence has become a global problem. The smoking behavior is originally from social factors, such as curiosity, imitation or social occasions. While the second step will have the effect of psychological factors, such as thrill, enjoyment, sedation or a way to eliminate their negative emotions. Then it will enter in tobacco dependence,and the nicotine mechanism was launched. As the military is a special group, their physical and mental health is the reliable guarantee of the battle effectiveness. According to a survey, our country forces’ smoking rates is between 25.2% to 25.2%. Smoking will not only do harm to their health but also cause many psychological problems. Therefore, grasping their smoking status, and the influencing factors of smoking is benifit to control the smoking rates. And it is necessary for us to formulate a specific control scheme according to the different situations.Study 1 adopts questionnaire survey, using the self-made basic demographic information, table and Russell Reason for Smoking Questionnaire as study tools to investigate 354 Navy Special-Service military personnel of Nanjing Military Region of Hangzhou Navy Sanatorium in August to December 2014. As a result, their smoking rate is high, and the smoking causes mainly comes from sedative and tobacco dependence.Study 2 is based on the conclusion of study 1. To divide smokers into two groups as their tobacco dependence degree.In order to explore their psychological factors of smoking behavior while to provide a scientific basis to Navy tobacco control intervention. As the tobacco degree of Russell Reason for Smoking Questionnaire, we divided 246 smokers into two groups named as tobacco dependence group (≥6point) and non-tobacco dependence group (< 6 points). Use Self-reporting Inventory and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire to assessment their mental health and personality.The results of the study found that smokers’ psychological health level is better than other norm group.But tobacco dependence group is lower than non-tobacco dependence group. Tobacco dependence group had a significantly higher score on the mental quality scores and neuroticism of non-tobacco dependence group and non-smokers..Based on the above summary, this research main conclusion is as follows:(1) The smoking rate and tobacco dependence rate of Navy special service is significantly high.The pilot group’s highest rate cause by the fighter plane,and the submarine group’s highest rate cause by nuclear submarine.(2)The Reason for Smoking of Navy special service is mainly because of sedative, the submarine group’s smoking reason is mainly because of indulgent. The pilot group’s smoking reason is mainly because of sedative.(3)With the growth of age, Navy’s smoking reason is become addictive, and the smoking behavior is mainly because of tobacco dependence.(4) Marital status, education level, pilot or submarine and the military rank is the social factors that in influence Navy’s smoking behavior.(5) Higher neuroticism smokers are more likely to smoke.(6) Tobacco dependence group’s mental health degree is on the lower side. The symptoms of somatization and hostile is significantly higher than non-tobacco dependence group and non-smokers.(7) On the dependence degree of smoking, depression, neuroticism is the high risk factors of Navy submarine; Depression, anxiety, nervousness is the high risk factors of Navy pilot.
