Research On The Quanzhou Government Propulsion Nationwide Reading

Reading is an important way to disseminate human knowledge, inherit human civilizations as well as improve human qualities. And to initiate civil reading and build a rich atmosphere of reading is of great significance for social development. In this paper, under the guidance of the new public service theory and the learning-society theory, a combination of questionnaires and random interviews is adopted to make an in-depth study of civil reading in Quanzhou City, including its reading conditions, reading groups, reading channels and reading materials. Besides, methods adopted for promoting civil reading at home and abroad, like in Shenzhen City, HangzhouCity, Shanghai City,the United States, Germany, Japan, Israel and Austria, are all collected, analyzed and summarized, so as to find solutions to the problems in Quanzhou City’s civil reading. In the end, six suggestions are made for the Quanzhou City. First, The government should policy financial support to ensure people reading. Second, The government shall establish credit bank makes people free reading. Third, The government should cultivate professional reading promoter, let people understand the reading. Fourth, The government should improve the infrastructure, convenient for people to read. Fifth, the government should mobilize social forces, and promote people to read. Sixth, the government should form reading fashion, advocating a reading. It is hoped that such suggestions would be helpful for the government to make related policies and improve the public reading level.
