The Problems And Countermeasures Of Small And Medium-sized City Road Traffic Management Research

As an artery of city development, road traffic plays a very important role in aspects such as pushing forward economy, social development, changing the city structure and scale, improving the transportation of urban citizens and so on. With the rapid development of social economy, both the population and the holding volume of motor vehicles in some medium-sized and small cities i ncrease rapidly, the pressure of road traffic grows continuously, the situation of driving at very low speed caused by vehicles’ crowdedness occurs frequently, and the frequent jam points increase continuously. And such situation even gets worse in rush hours and holidays. According to the estimate of next few years, the holding volume of private cars will keep a momentum of continuous rise. At the same time, with the acceleration of urbanization, the quick gathering of all sorts of factors and vigorous development of service industry escalate the high-density and high-frequency flow of people and vehicles further, and the capacity of urban road is getting saturated.In recent years, although the small and medium cities in the road construction and other basic projects have done a lot of planning and design and investment, but also to take many measures to improve, but the traffic congestion, parking difficulties, public transportation and other issues still exist, and the contradictions become more prominent, the basic reason is that the management is not big enough, management means more backward, and in the actual management process, but also the lack of management responsibilities, lack of effective system and other issues.In this paper, the problem of road traffic problems in small and medium cities is analyzed, and the status quo, existing problems and management strategies are analyzed.
