After the reform and opening up, With the rapid economic development and the improvement of people’s living standard, more and more people begin to pay attention to body health and nutrition and health care, in this case, the health food industry in our country gradually developed in the late 1980s, as a new industry, it don’t getting enough attention in the early development, the development of the industry has experienced several ups and downs. For health food industry gradually formed the scale, now it has become an integral part of national economic development, some problems are inevitable with the continuous development of industry. So, it is necessary that to research on government regulation of the health-care food in our country.After combing the related research of government regulation on the health-care food and clearing the content of the article research, I analyzed the health food industry development course and current trend of the development, I think they are main problems of government regulation on the health-care food in our country:the laws and regulations issued in a timely manner, the health food quality standard system is imperfect, access to the examination and approval and regulatory, the disability regulation of the health-care food illegal phenomenon such as false advertising, low health food quality testing capabilities, product labels and manual management is not standard, etc. To solve these problems, I put forward the cause of these problems mainly include the following aspects, the health-care food development started late in China, the evaluation standard is difficult to effectively define, product regulatory body is not clear, insufficient crackdown on illegal behavior, insufficient investment in testing institutions, lack of training and education for industry professionals and consumers.By comparing the measures of government regulation on health-care food from Japan and the United States, to explore the feasibility of implement classified management and limiting the propaganda about health food in our country, further put forward to strengthen government regulation on health-care food in our country, it is necessary that to establish and perfect the relevant administration laws and regulations and industry standards as soon as possible, improve government supervision mechanism on the health-care food, strengthen the government supervision of technical support, for training and publicity of government regulators, enterprise personnel and the consumers.
