The Young pioneers, in China, is an important component of socialist education of Chinese characteristic, and an basic part of the Communist Youth League(CYL) and Communist Party of China(CPC),which is honored as "the first button of life". And the educational tradition of the Young Pioneers is not only the deep focus of research and the key factor for fostering the eligible successors and builders for China and CPC, but also matters in the health and growth of the 130 million children, who are eager to be the masters of China in the future.The core issue of this research mainly revolves around what is the traditional education of the young pioneers in China, adopting literature research and survey research. Based on the prominent events of the Young Pioneers, this research, with the foundation of Anyuan Children’s Corps in 1922 as the starting point, divides the development of the Young Pioneers into 6 stages, namely the prototype stage, the forming stage, the initial development stage, the destruction stage, the recovery stage and the creative development stage. Development review is given to each and every stage from the two perspectives of "organization development" and "education development", which hopefully lays foundation for the presentation of the educational tradition of the Young Pioneers.This research finds that the features presented by the Young Pioneers in its historical development and change include:on the value orientation, inheriting mainstream values and cultivating successors; on the philosophy of education, respecting the children and paying attention to Self-education of children; on teaching methods, focusing on the strength of models promoting hands-on experience; on education forces, valuing the educational tradition of integrated education and emphasizing the educational responsibility of society. These educational traditions are not only benefit from the unique nature of the young pioneers organization, but also have their deep historical and cultural origins and exert far-reaching impact on the sound growth of the youth and the future of the Party and the country.Under the background of China’s deep transformation, the educational tradition of the Young Pioneers of China is facing internal and external challenges. From the external side, "double changes" confronted by the children’s life impose a challenge for today’s children. The contemporary education perfects the school education and makes the original advantages of the education of the Young Pioneers disappear at the same time. The shift from hero to the successful erects a barrier for the education of the Young Pioneers. The frequent "clash" with the school education from the interior side, the one-sided pursuit of "dynamic" in educational activities and the "Disenchantment" orientation in the educational spirit, deeply threat the educational tradition.According to the research, the education of the Young Pioneers should adhere to its own uniqueness and form its own criterions of education. In addition, the parents and teacher involved. Only in this way, the Yong pioneers will contribute its special education power to help children to grow up.
