With further development of globalization and great changes of international political pattern, the international security situation has changed dramatically since the new century: the global security problems are increasingly severer, along with the intertwined threats of traditional security and non-traditional security. And the national security has always been one of the central issues and also the focus of debate in China’s international political circle. At the end of 2013, the Ukraine crisis took place and, as a result, Crimea was annexed by Russia. Then a large-scale civil war broke out between Eastern folk arms and the government troops, which causes the deterioration of its economy and national security. With the more intensified crisis, the Ukraine crisis, a domestic constitutional crisis, now quickly becomes an international political conflict. Therefore, it is necessary that Ukraine should take urgent measures to stabilize its domestic situation and also strengthen the regional cooperation to secure its national security. Being an important member of East European countries(EEC), Ukraine has a long history and also complex reality disputes with other Eastern European countries, while now the whole Eastern European security is subject to geopolitics and superpower games. Thus solving the security problem of Eastern Europe has great benefits for Ukraine security, and placing Ukraine in the large framework of East European security will also contribute to Ukrainian national security.Based on national security theories, this article analyzes the situation, problems, and the existing reasons of the regional security of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. And also, this thesis reviews the history and strategic elements of the national security strategy since Ukrainian independence up to now. Taking Barry Buzan’s "Regional Security Complex Theory" as the analytical framework, this thesis, from the perspective of East European regional security, explores the Ukrainian national security problem and then puts forward the relevant strategies to solve it, with an aim of providing a new vision for Ukrainian national security study.
