"The Great Three" Russia-China-The USA: Trilateral Relations In The Asia-Pacific Region. Is There Room For The Third?

Current thesis is dedicated to the modern problems of Asia-Pacific region and Russian policy in this part of the world. Special attention is paid to the relations between Russia, China and USA. The chapters are grouped into five sections. The first section describes general political trends in the region and participation of "The Great Three" in these processes. Proceeding from the analysis of current situation the author provides us with the information about factors of destabilization of political systems in Asia-Pacific and distinguishes some trends and prospects of the development of the region. The second section discusses the role of Siberia and Far East regions in the integration process in the Asia-Pacific region, and their place in the triangle relations of these countries. Analyzing policies and strategies of Moscow, Beijing and Washington concerning the Eastern regions of Russia, the author is trying to find an answer to the question:are these relations going to develop in the nature of confrontation or cooperation? The third section consists the analysis of Ukrainian crisis and how it has influenced on the political situation in Asia-Pacific; how relations between Russia, China and USA are becoming one of the most notable phenomenons of modern international policy. What are the reasons? What is the essence of relations in the triangle? How interaction is evolving after Ukrainian crisis? In the fourth section the policy of main powers of the region (the USA and China), their interaction with Russia and between themselves, as well as approaches to the main conflicts and problems in the region are examined. And the final-fifth section-considers the activities of regional international organizations and various problems of economic integration and is answering the main questions:What are the peculiarities of relations in the triangle under current conditions and what will be their impact to the international policy in future? Is there a place for "the third" in bilateral relations of the future?...
