To the history of PRC of 1960’s and 1970’s, "capitalist roaders" is a concept which had symbol meaning. The development of the concept from appearance to disappearance is also an important content of this period of history. Thus, applying conceptual history research method to make clear the development of the concept "capitalist roaders", should be of great significant and value for deeply understanding the history that birth and develop with this concept. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part explores the origin of the concept "capitalist roaders".In the anti-rightist movement, Mao Zedong turned his focus of attention to the party gradually, a large number of party members and cadres were judged as " the Rightists in the Party "and various Anti-party clique. In 1959, the anti-rightist struggle further introduced the class struggle into the party, and put forward concepts "right opportunism within the party" and "the democratic revolution fellow travelers". Then, the CCP Central Committee decided to launch the socialist education movement in urban and rural areas, the concept "capitalist roaders" was formally proposed in this movement. It can be seen that this concept was a product of escalation of class struggle’s error. The second part presents extension and enlargement of the concept "capitalist roaders". After the Culture Revolution was launched, the spearhead of class struggle pointed to the party leadership, there was an idea that inside the party formed a "bourgeois command", and in the local had their "agents". All over the country raised the power struggle to "capitalist roaders". As the deeper development of Culture Revolution, Mao put forward the concept "bourgeoisie within the party". And the Gang of Four raised the reactionary formula of "democrats= capitalist roaders= bourgeoisie within the party", spared no effort to promote that "the bourgeoisie is in the communist party".The last part describes the disappearance of the concept "capitalist roaders". After crushing the Gang of Four, represented by Hua Guofeng’s political report in the eleventh Congress of the CCP, the public were universally recognized that Mao’s discussion about "capitalist roaders" was correct, and the Gang of Four’s theories of "capitalist roaders" were a distortion of that of Mao’s. And they wanted to distinguish between the two. As the development of the exposure and criticism to the Gang of Four and setting things to rights, the Culture Revolution and the theory of continuing the revolution under the dictatorship of the proletariat were denied. Take the "Resolution on Certain Questions in the History of Our Party Since the Founding of the People’s Republic of China" which was passed in the Plenary Session of Eleventh Central Committee of the CCP as a sign, the concept "capitalist roaders" completely disappeared.
