Though the purpose of religions is for eternal life, once their believers get organized, the religions group become quite identical with the politics organizations as they are both rational and structured, which may cause collision in certain circumstances. That’s why the relationship between politics and religions is delicate and complex, and it’s an issue need to be dealt properly in any epoch for any kind of the society. The relationships between politics and religions depicted by the terms like ‘the separation of church and state’ and ‘the freedom of faith’ are constitutionalized, since most of the nations are secularized nowadays. Therefore the actual relationships between politics and religions are inclined to be observed and recognized from the religion management systems, which formed by the laws and administration. This essay is to research the actual relationships between politics and religions in Japan via the review on its religion management system based on the study of macroreligion management. The paper is divided into 3 parts. In the second part, by going through the history of the development of the religion management system of Japan, the path which generated the current religion management system with legalization and freedom is unfolded. In the third part, the case studies on the de facto relationship between politics and religions under the current religion management system is done in order to draw forth the conclusion that the contemporary religion management system in Japan is mature enough to hinder the violation on principle of the separation of church and state and safeguard the principle of the freedom of faith in most cases.
