In China, public sector staff main consists of civil servants, public institution staff,government employees and other temporary personnel. Public sector workers as the main body of the exercise of public power, who provides public goods and public services to the public, their performance will directly affect the public sector administrative efficiency and service quality. In order to improve the government’s capacity and service level, it’s very necessary to take some study on the satisfaction of all kinds of staff work in the public sector.This research uses the mature work satisfaction scale to measure the job satisfaction of all kinds of staff in the author’s department. Using the SPSS statistical software to analys and compare the job satisfaction from different kinds of staff. The conclusion of the study are as follows.The total job satisfaction is consists of 9 parts, including the superior, colleagues,remuneration, welfare, identification, information communication, the nature of the work, the chance of promotion, and the operating procedures. To all the staff, the job satisfaction is between satisfied and dissatisfied, they are satisfied with their colleagues and superiors, and at the same time they are not satisfied with the remuneration as well as the benefits. All people are satisfied with the nature of the work, except the civil servants, while everyone is dissatisfied with the promotion opportunities in addition to the institution staff. The civil servants and the public institution staff are not satisfied with the operating procedures. The staff in different identity present significantly different on the total job satisfaction. Other personal factors show no significant effects on the overall job satisfaction. Personal factors cause significantly different more or ness on all parts of job satisfaction except the superior and the identification. The key factors of job satisfaction for staff in different identity are significant difference.According to the result of the research, give some suggestions to improve the job satisfaction for staffs in different identity. And make the study having realistic meaning.
