Innovationof Ideological And Political Education On Sanjiangyuan Migrants

In 2003, in order to protect and restore the environment of Three-Rivers Headwaters, Chinese government established the nature reserve called ‘Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve(SNNR)’. This project was approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China in 2004, and it has reached the initial results until now. The trend of ecosystem degradation was mitigated initially with the ecosystem improvement of core project areas. The SNNR ecological migrants gain the better producing and living conditions in new settlement, and these people strengthen their environmental awareness effectively. However, there are still some deficiencies in their ideological and political education, and the practical work also meets some problems. Implement ideological and political education for SNNR ecological migrants as the important component of the SNNR project, which also plays key role as to whether migrant herdsmen could have a well-off living standard. This paper aims to research the traditional methods of ideological and political education and their drawbacks. Through analyzing the special situation in SNNR, this paper provides specific views and suggestions on how to innovate ideological and political education methods for SNNR ecological migrants. These suggestions could help ideological and political education implement for SNNR ecological migrants smoothly. Furthermore, this project could be a good example for other environmental migration projects.
