We human only have one world, and all the countries exist in one world. In the face of the international financial crisis, the terrorist threat, climate change and other global problems, the questions that where should we go and what’s the future development of the world turn out to be the problems needed to be dealt with. In response to this, under the leadership of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of China suggests constructing "Common Destiny for all Mankind", which reflects China hopes to take concrete actions to shoulder the international responsibility and obligation, to discuss rather than arbitrary, to construct together rather than force, to share rather than a single win that only reflects China’s power. China should not only bear the major power responsibility in the international society, at the same time, but also be on the alert of the domestic extreme nationalism. What we can do is to guide the national people to receive "world citizen" education with Chinese characteristics, which attaches great importance to the rational nationalism consciousness and traditional culture personality, the cultivation of the socialist core values under the multicultural tolerance and the sense of the world, and the cultivation between the revival of the Chinese nation and open-mind. In response to this, This study is mainly carried out from the following aspects:Chapter one is Introduction. The premise and basis of the whole research are presented, including the source of research, research target and research methods, the theoretical and practical meaning, the research status at home and abroad, the definition of related concepts, research objectives, research methods and the innovation and deficiency of this study.Chapter Two studies the ideological basis of "World Citizen" education. Firstly, the author summarizes the Chinese traditional thoughts concerning "World Citizen", including World of Universal Harmony", "Man is an Integral Part of Nature", "Humanitarian", "Pacifism", and "the world doctrine". Then the ideological basis of Western "World Citizen" Education are listed, including Diogenes, the Stoics, Habermas’ s thought on "world citizen" education. What’s more, Marx and Engels ideological foundation on the "World Citizen" Education is introduced.The third chapter mainly studies the contemporary revival of "world citizen" education. This chapter mainly summarizes the reasons of "world citizen" education renaissance, including the peace and development has become the theme of the present era,the "globalization" era and the leadership of the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization. The practice of contemporary "world citizen" education revival are showed in the following aspects, including the international organization for the "world citizen" culture and the practice of different countries and regions.Chapter Four mainly studies the "World Citizen" Education thoughts from Western scholars. In western countries, the "World Citizen" Education has put into practice in the late 20 th century. Among the scholars who studies the theory based on practice, Matha Baum is one of them. This chapter introduces the "World Citizen" Education of Matha Baum, including the purpose, content, capability requirement, and curriculum of "World Citizen" Education as well as the role the humanities curriculum plays in "World Citizen" Education. At the same time, Baum’s "World Citizen" Education is evolved in this paper.Chapter Five mainly studies the idea of "world citizen" education with Chinese characteristics. This chapter summarizes the necessity of "World Citizen" Education in our country under the perspective of a Community of Common Destiny for all Mankind, including the reflection on the global serious problems and the domestic extreme nationalism. What makes the "World Citizen" Education in our country under the perspective of a Community of Common Destiny for all Mankind possible falls on accumulation of Chinese traditional ideas, the reality of China’s "peaceful rise", the guidance of Marxism and Xi Jinping, who puts forward the theoretical basis of "human destiny community". What’s more, the connotation of the "world citizen" with Chinese characteristics, the connotation of the "world citizen" in the West, the difference between the curriculum of colleges and universities to strengthen the education of Chinese history and culture should be included in World Citizen" Education in our country under the perspective of a Community of Common Destiny for all Mankind, in which we should manage to carry out intercultural course in colleges to cultivating the sense of responsibility of "world citizen" and universities which can improve the extent and the connotation of foreign exchange.
