Study On Present Living Situation,Problems And Countermeasures Of Rural Left-Behind Women

Since December, 1978, our country starts to implement reform and opening up. A fterwards, male rural immigrant laborers gradually become a large scale and normalize d trend. A special group-- left-behind women, come into being and increase day by day. The appearance of this group is the inevitable result of continuous improvement of Chinese featured agriculture and urbanization.After husband goes into town to work, left-behind women have to shoulder such responsibilities as household duties, productive labor, child education, care for the elde rly; multiple responsibilities and roles aggravate left-behind women’s living and psychological pressure. With the increase of the gap in social environment and gained benefits of two genders, the intensive inequality between two genders shows deeper, which confines their developing space further.This paper takes Zhongxindian Town, Beisu Town, and Tianhuang Town in Zoucheng County as survey scope, to make investigation on the living situation of left-behind women to get detailed information and material, and selects targeted individual cases to make analysis, so as to examine the types, features and living situation of them. The author also makes comprehensive analysis on the reasons for their asverse conditions and the countermeasures. This paper proposes to make reforms on relevant p-olicies to reinforce the maintenance of rural left-behind women’s rights, to increase social attention to alleviate rural left-behind women’s living pressure, to enhance their cultural qualities and production skills, and to provide favorable developing environment for left-be-hind women to make them realize self-worth.
