Study On The Government Information Public Online Under The Perspective Of Political Communication

Innovation and application of Internet technology, make the government information public into the Internet era, Internet has become the main form of the government information public. The paper researches on the government information public statistically in the new media environment, mainly constituted by the provincial government portal websites, from the perspectives of political communication, focusing on analysis of the features and state of the five dimensions in political communication: subject, accepter, channel, content and effects. The samplings are randomly drawn from the 15 provincial government portal websites in China within one year, and the statistical data, with reference to the actual cases and 5W model of Lasswell, are analyzed. The statistical evidence corroborate the following conclusions: Citizens and the government became the collective gatekeeper of information choice and agenda setting, led by the government; the scope of information public is becoming more and more widely, but lack of value and timeliness, and the subject are based on the political dynamic; the subject and accepter of political communication has the characteristics of dualization; the emerging channels are forming new models of information dissemination; and an effective feedback mechanism has not yet come into being. Through the analysis and discussion, the paper purports to theorize about government information public and be heuristic in face of the opportunities and challenges in its development.
