Study On The Communication Model During Emergency Policing

Our country now is in a very crucial period of development, which faces an unprecedented strategic opportunity as well as boomed problems and conflicts. During this period, the possibility for the police to encounter emergency policing is increasing. And most of times, emergency policing is related with the benefit of the public and the stability of the whole society. Because of its uncertainty and its destructiveness, emergency policing not only effects the mood and psychology of the public, but also damage the prestige and image of police. During the management of emergency policing, the police needs the trust and support from the public and all the measures to handle the crises needs the understanding and implementation of the public. The trust and understanding from the public do effect the management of the crises and the stability of the society. To emergency policing, effective communication is the key to handle a crisis. So it is very urgent and necessary to study the communication model during emergency.This article starts from the relevant theory of organization communication, crises management and emergency policing to know the general model of organization communication. Meanwhile, this article introduced the procedure of crises management and the specialty meaning of it. All this formed the basis of this article. Then this article compared the communication in the public sector between home and aboard, made a study on the characteristic, function and problem of communication during emergency policy. In this part, we mainly emphasis on the function of effective communication for handling crises, alleviating the relations between the public and the police, guiding the public opinion, preventing intensify of conflicts. Through this study, we hope to get a conclusion that during emergency policing, first we need an unimpeded interior communication mechanism; second the police should start from the preparation for the potential crises, establish an emergency policing management mechanism and a pre-arranged plan to handle the crises which will help the police to react quickly to the crises and communicate with the public immediately. By doing so, the police can prevent some of the potential crises from happening and once there is a crisis, police can quickly respond to it which will help to illuminate the negative effects to the police and the society, and help to build a harmonious society.
