It is a case study based on Hekai community in Menghun town, Menghai county, Yunnan province. An in-depth research regarding the development of school after dismantling and combining teaching points in Hekai community is carried out with the application of fieldwork method. In this study, a great deal of firsthand information is collected through random interviews and participant observation and other methods. The field research convinces the author that the unique Hekai’s environmental conditions and history impact on the formation as well as the development of local culture. It also exerts great influence on the school education in Hekai community.The problem of dismantling teaching points and combining school of primary and secondary in the Hekai community takes on four features. There have some problems during building standardized boarding schools; the distribution adjustment increases the teachers’ work load and the inappropriate staff structure; the low grade of Lahu ethnic minority students’ academic examinations; the intermittent dropping out among Lahu students. In this study, the auther applied multi-dimensional perspectives from Cultural Anthropology, Sociology, Educational Anthropology and Pedagogy, and then analyzed the causes of the predicament. The research has found that the investment in building boarding schools after the distribution adjustment is insufficiency; the culture isolation mechanism among Lahu nationality; the Lahu education is reflected in the consanguineous marriage, early marriage and early motherhood; the rise of tea trade makes the Lahu students intermittently drop out; the lack of school education for Lahu students before liberation; textbooks are not adapted to rural area conditons. The study adopts Multicultural Intergration Education Theory to deal with the problems. Specifically, there are some methods, such as insisting on raiseing funds from multi channels, strengthing the construction of the primary and secondary boarding school, encouraging college students to go there for practice, adopting measures which is suited for local conditions while incorporating schools and enhancing communication among all ethnic groups in school. The author studies the contemporary Lahu community school education, analyzes the problems, and considers the virtuous developmental ways. The discussion is significance on promoting the modernization of Luhu community and constructing the Chinese harmonious society.
