As an ancient, miraculous, charm ing, amazing and mysterious land, Lincang C ity is a border area wit h various unique natural and humanistic resourc es. This hidden world, with diverse Va z u cultures, has gene rate d 12 local national m inorities and created Vazu- based glorious and swinging multi-ethnic cult ure. Various ethnic cultures are ge nerated and flourished in fasci nat ing Lincang.There are various and amaz ing folk songs in Linc ang, here, many ethnic gr oups create di fferent songs and tones with their own cus toms, nat ure and their des ires for happiness, cult ivat ion and national customs to sing or to narrate. All of these are our valuable spiritual wealth as they telling the dilige nt cul tivation in the view of their simple li festyl e and rec ounting t he course of national history. The hist ory will not be forgotten and t he song will of l ong standing. Unt il now, the tradit ional ethnic music is becoming replac ed by the pop music in modern various music schools, therefor e,the folk song of Vaz u and Lahu people resided in Sout hwest China are facing the ris k of dying off. In order to i nherit the ethnic culture and ethnic spirit, it is significant to permeat e the folk song of Va z u and Lahu people i nto musi c t eaching of middle and primary school, espec ial ly in the junior high school.This es say discusses t he research background, signifi cance and current situation of the folk song of Va z u and Lahu people, and t he advantage of the Lahu folk song teaching in the junior high school music teaching, the significance and effect s of practice and appli cation i n the junior hi gh school music teaching. The focus is permea ting the folk song of Va z u and Lahu people into the teaching process and mathods of junior high school music teaching; the music teacher sel ects folks sui tabl e for students; learn how to sing folk s ongs, unders tand the custom and humanisti c spi rit of minoriti es in hometown; select mem bers of extracurricular special interest group and arrange act ivity contents; music teachers collect and sys temiz e hom etown folk songs, introduce and teach their students to sing them in music class es; art studio demonstrat ion teaching class vi ew; cultivate thei r love of folk songs of Vaz u andLa hu people by ethnic songs chorus and upholding talent show of outstanding ethnic girls and boys. “J ianglingsai” “The moon raises ” “La huran” will become students’ life-l ong loving music, and also, let the genera tions of Linc ang people attract tourists into Linc ang with their resounding folk songs.As the significa nt spiri tual wealth of the tradit ional folk song in Linc ang and t he carr ier of nat ional music, the folk song conce ntrat ed refle cts the unique spirituality and psyc hological di athesis of Va z u and La hu people, demonstrating national characteri stics such as local condi tions and customs and aesthetic tastes. Combining the folk song with junior high school m usic education courses enriches educational resourc es, enhanc ing teachers and students’ traditional cultural accomplishments,making posit ive i nfluence s on the improvements of quality of m usic teaching.
