| Preschool family education plays an irreplaceable role in education, thus exertsimportant influence not only on one’s personal growth, but also on the development ofentire society. Influenced by all kinds of society factors such as politics, economy,culture etc, preschool family education of different countries presents differentcharacteristics. With the acceleration of globalization, communications among diversecultures increases. There are many researchers who do extensive research onSino-American family educational field; however, to some extent, these researches area little bit general on the whole, which do not differentiate periods of ages particularly.It is believed that the influences family education have on individuals are notablydifferent in different age phases, thus a distinctive research is needed. This paper iscommitted to the analysis and study on Sino-American preschool family education.This paper is based on the theory of Hofstede’s value dimension, from theperspective of uncertainty-avoidance, power distance, masculinity and femininity,individualism and collectivism, intending to carry out a comparative study onSino-American preschool moral education, ways to narrow the gaps between parentsand children as well as methods to foster children’s independence.According to our research, there are obvious differences along with similarities,for instance, the two countries both put emphasis on children’s intelligent education,formative education, family responsibilities and emphasize teaching by examples andpercepts. On the one hand, getting a better understanding of differences helps the twocultures learn from each other and avoid its weakness. On the other hand, studying onhomogeneities can help increase Sino-American preschool family educationidentification. |
