Cooperative learning is a kind of teaching mode which is advocated by a newround of curriculum reform in our country. it scientifically use the cooperation betweenteachers and students, especially the cooperation between students and students. It has asignificant effect on improving the students’ learning attitude, developing theirconsciousness of cooperation and improving their cognitive level. The school that theauthor selected is a typical rural high school. Since2010, in order to promote the reformof classroom teaching actively, the school has begun to learn the teaching modes in DuLangkou middle school in shandong and hebei hengshui high school and combinedthem with the actual conditions of the school. Cooperative learning plays a good role inmany aspects, such as stimulating students’ interest in learning, optimizing the use ofcurriculum resources, improving the quality of teaching and improving classroomatmosphere and so on. At the same time, due to a late start and insufficient relevanttraining theory and teaching experience, the practical cooperative learning patterns andstrategies which are suitable to geography teaching in the high schools are clearlyinsufficient. These problems have become the biggest bottleneck of the implement ofcooperation learning and giving full play to the efficiency of cooperative learning.This paper mainly uses questionnaire survey, interview and observation method toinvestigate and study the current situation of cooperation learning in the high school’sgeography teaching. Through investigating, it is found that cooperative learning is reallyhelpful to students’ learning in the current geography classroom in high schools;however, there exist many problems: unreasonable arrangement of cooperation team,formalized process of cooperative learning, random select of cooperative learning task,insufficient time for students to think, misconduct of teachers guide and regulation,single one-sided evaluation summary and urgent need of improving students ability tocooperate, etc.In order to effectively solve the current problems existing in the cooperativelearning and make the implement of cooperative learning successful and efficient in thisschool, after more than a year of theoretical research and front-line teaching interviews, the author analyses the causes of the problems and puts forward the followingcountermeasures in seven aspects on the basis of the practical experience of thegeography teachers: first, set up reasonable groups by comprehensive consideration.Second, strengthen learning and grasp the essence of cooperation. Third, screencarefully and set reasonable tasks. Fourth, analyze thoroughly and determine activitytime. Fifth, change roles and offer correct guidance. Sixth, perfect the mechanism andcarry out the evaluation. Seventh, develop skills and promote the full participation.Through the investigation and study of present situation and problems in cooperativelearning in the rural high school geography teaching, the author hopes to be able toeffectively solve the problems in the implement of cooperation learning in this school,and at the same time, to provide some reference and suggestions for other schools’related research and the implementation of cooperative learning in geography teaching.
