Cooperative learning is under the demand of improving the quality of educationand teaching,it is a kind of new teaching mode which based on the reflection of thetraditional teaching organization and gradual developed.The idea put forward in thenew curriculum reform,"hands-on practice,autonomous exploration,cooperation andcommunication is the most important way of learning mathematics".In recentyears,cooperative learning has been widely applied in the primary and secondaryschool mathematics classroom in our country.Compared with the developedarea,cooperative learning in the majority of the county junior high school inNorthwest region has its own characteristics,the present situation,the problems and theimproved measures of cooperative learning is worth studying.This study takes the Huining county independent junior high school as theresearch object,through mathematical disciplines,using questionnaires, classroomobservation and other methods,from different dimensions(students and teachers’individual analysis,comparative analysis of students and teachers,comparativeanalysis of different grades of students)to investigate and analyze about theunderstanding of mathematics cooperative learning between teachers and students,andimplementation process of mathematics cooperative learning.The study found that there are some problems in mathematics cooperativelearning:1. The group is unreasonable and division of labor is unclear;2. The teachergives students too little time to think;3. The students’ participation is not balanced;4.The teacher is lack of cooperative learning theory knowledge;5. The teacher is notallowed to his role;6. The teacher is lack of guidance of students cooperation skills;7.The teacher for the student’s question mode and evaluation system is unitary.Based on the study of problems,we put forward the following countermeasuresand Suggestions:1. Reasonable grouping,a clear division of labor;2. The teachershould leave students plenty of time to think independently;3. The teacher shouldguide all students to actively participate in the cooperation;4. Strengthen teacher’sprofessional training;5.Correctly handle the relationship between teachers andstudents;6. Teach students cooperation skills;7. The teacher for the student’s questionmode and the evaluation system should be diversified.
