| National identity is a kind of important national consciousness. We can haveattitudes of national masters to defend national sovereignty consciously, maintainnational sovereignty and perform responsibilities that we should undertake ascitizens only when we clearly know our civic identity. Being elites of ethnicminorities, minority college students in Xinjiang are precious talent resources of thecountry and effective strength that can push development of Xinjiang. Their nationalidentity and consciousness is related to the national unity and national stability, to thesocialist construction and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has theprofound significance, at the same time as a multi-ethnic region internal situation isspecial, facing the international environment is more complex,this will lead to theinternational situation will affect the security situation in Xinjiang. Coupled with theseparatist forces did not stop to separate in Xinjiang, this makes the situationserious.In the campus of ethnic minority college students lack of socialexperience,ideological cognition is simple, they are more likely to be used byseparatise forces, facing this situation, study minority college students nationalidentity path, set up the right sense of national identity has a certain practicalsignificance.This thesis targets minority college students at four colleges and university inXinjiang. Based on the special situation of xinjiang, Based on questionnaires andinterviews,to obtain the first-hand information of Xinjiang minority college studentsnational identity status. Through the analysis about questionnaires and interviewsfound that degree of national identity is high on the whole.Meanwhile someproblems existing in national identity of minority college students in Xinjiang. Somestudents neither have sufficient mastery about historical knowledge and relatedculture of China nor pay enough attention to events related to the country. Instead,there is deviation in their cognition about separatist forces and they lack civicawareness. Facing some problems, they show an escaping attitude. Meanwhile, thispart starts with international, domestic and individual factors and analyzes causes forforegoing problems.In terms of the problems and influencing factors, this paper studies on paths tostrengthen national identity of minority college students in Xinjiang, and proposesspecific countermeasures. That is to say, China shall publicize citizen identityeducation, accelerate economic development, increase input into nationalityelementary education, create a good national identity environment from a social perspective, popularize relevant historical knowledge, promote the development ofcorrect values by making use of media resources to publicize excellent deeds,establish a national identity cultivation website, and strengthen national identitycombined with family education. Schools shall give full play to the main channelrole of ideological and political course, strengthen national unity education, hold avariety of activities to enhance minority college students’ emotional experience ofthe country, strengthen legal education, and encourage exchanges among students ofdifferent nationalities to promote tolerance of different cultures. Minority collegestudents shall have a firm belief in Marxism, enhance their ability to withstandvarious bad thoughts, and change patriotic enthusiasm into specific behaviors. |
